PERCEIVED Why did Einstein's Relativity have real consequences of life? I do not understand!?

I do not understand. Here's Einstein said that: Albert Einstein's observation: "When a man sits with a pretty girl for an hour, it seems like a minute. How does this help someone understand how, for example, increase the speed / mass may cause time dilation … ? So … Why did Einstein use a perceptual phenomenon to explain a phenomenon quantified??? This statement is particularly a joke, based on his theory of relativity. Now, it can have consequences real, but only if we actually develop travel speed of light, or travel near speed of light. Even without practical applications, however, is the basis without which much of our modern science has arisen, which have real life application, medicine, understanding of stars, the chemical sciences.
