Pocket Watch Bicentennial

How can I repair my damaged pocket watch water?

I have a pocket watch (American Bicentennial kind of thing. On the face, He said the words "elegant" and "Antimagnetic") A while back, I loaned one of my friends for a fancy on the theme, and it eventually fell into a cup of soda. It then stopped working. Is it possible that I can get this thing to work on myself? Would it opening and running a help hot tap or bad?

At this stage, there is not much that can hurt more than it is already. Soda is worse news than water because it gum everything that goes wrong. Trying to wash it is probably useless, but dammit, it's worth trying. It does not work at all with the soda in it and drying while fouling. To have it professionally cleaned is * probably * not worth it, but it also the only way to say with certainty that it is repaired. This will take the soda on everything, absolutely all the gears, shafts, springs, etc. etc. etc. will need to be cleaned individually. I doubt that the watch is going to work by washing, but there is no reason not to try because it is. Al
