Pocket Watch Chains Silver

My friend gave me a gift for Christmas, and I still do not know what it is! There is Silver with a long string and it seems like a bunch of small chains about half its size set at the average. (Imagine takeing four collars and port, then at the same time) it is covered with purple and silver stars, and it's really cool! But I do not know what it is! I thought it might be a belt, but it is not long anough, and it seems silly as a pocket watch. It's too long to be a necklace (It fastener on each end of the chain. Imagine a necklace for you the size) What is this same? Is this a chain of crooks? If it is I do not want not be that way. Suggestions? I think the ornaments and the stars are too big to be wrapped around a wrist, even if it is the place of my wrist perfectly. I would say about 2-3 feet, because I'm 5'2 "and he comes in my size. Or not, I'm not sure it fits not around my hips in the belt loops without being really tight.
