What happened in the television show The Vampire Diaries?

i LOVE this show and we have seen all the episodes but I am a bit confused about some things. Firstly, how can Anna Pearl and walk in the sun without getting burned? Do they have rings like Damon and Stefan? Second, what ever happened to the watch pocket detector vampire / Fell Jeremy Logan's room? Thank you for the help! (:

in a flashback episode, Pearl has commented that "Thanks to Emily, you can walk in the sun, and Damon took the watch from Logan, and gave it to Stephan, who gave Elana, and now he has Elana.
