Quixtar scam or long term money maker?

I recently bought for a price cheep Quixtar. 60 to sign up to is not so bad in my pocketbook. I saw the Dateline story about it being a scam. But, as I looked, it seems that people who were buried in obtaining tons of debt have been one who is always going to conventions and spending all their money on motivational tapes and books. I am much smarter than that. I do not need motivation of a person or a band. I get all my motivation for myself. So I will not spend my money on both. I do not intend to Super Off rich one and if I do not cool. So my question is if I avoid all of their sales pitches and stick to the purchase of products and introducing other people will buy repay 10-15 years the line when I became a strong enough people on my tree?
