Seiko Watches

Since producing their first timepiece in 1924, the Seiko name has been synonymous with craftsmanship, and Seiko watches are known worldwide for their superb design, elite performance, and legacy of style.

Founded in 1881 by Kintaro Hattori a watch and owner of a jewelry store in the Ginza area of Tokyo, the company began producing wallclock in 1892 under the name Seikosha: Seiko is Japanese for "success", "miniature" or "exquisite" and Sha means "house". Over the next few decades, Seikosha grew and began to produce pocket watches and wristwatches, and in 1913 began the laurel, the first show ever produced in Japan. The first watches to be produced under the Seiko name has started appearing in 1924 and 1964, Seiko watches made history again by producing quartz watches in the world first. The export of Seiko watches are from 1.6 million in1965 to 11.8 million in 1977. The Seiko quartz watch phenomenon has to develop rapidly. Production reached about 21 million in 2001. The company has been recognized as the leader in precision timing and Seiko products are often used for major sporting events, including the time the World Cup and the Olympics.

Now, six distinct movements Seiko Kinetic including Seiko Kinetic Auto Relay. It has a power saving when not where it winters not used and wakes up again four years later, at the exact time. The latest breakthrough is the Seiko Seiko Spring Drive introduced in 1999. Spring Drive is a mechanical watch with the precision of a quartz watch. The Spring Drive vested in a rotor whose electrical output induces a quartz crystal to emit a reference signal that regulates the speed at which the spring relaxes. It has a power reserve of 72 hours, one of the longest among all mechanical watches.

With innovation at the heart of his company, Seiko is to be limited to technologically advanced new watch.
