Is pickpocketing in Turkey that bad?

I'm going to Turkey this year and after visiting the site dog Guard have discovered that it is renouned * for pickpocketing. What I mean by foreigners to come behind you in a restaurant and theft your purse while your not looking and other related crimes. I want to know is really Turkey .. Bad? Please to share your experiences from around the world, but especially Turkey. Thank you very much appreciate answers x0x Louise

Hi Louise, I just Embassy of Turkey to apply for the visa and all I had were all warnings about it – if so, apparently it is so bad. The guy Turkish embassy @ says I have to watch my bag because the bag grabbing hand is common, thift is common, it has even warned that taxi drivers can take money and do not return the change so we better keep the small change "Kuru" with us always .. but he says we should not be too cautious Most people are nice and most public places are safe, so just take the normal safety procedures and you'll be fine.
