Dinner Suit – Black Tie Function/Party?
Would it be incorrect to wear a Waist Coat and Cummerbund with a Dinner Suit? Is it also proper to wear Medals on a dinner jacket whilst attending a civillian black tie function and a Pocket Watch with chain attached to the waist coat?
a. cummerbunds (the preferred option in the UK) OR waistcoats
b. medals – military or civilian awards? no military medals unless it is a military function and then they would be dress medals (the minature ones).
c. you could wear a watch and chain but, as I say, a cummerbund is the “norm” in the UK.
