Why continue to lose my watch the exact time?

I got a TAG Heuer watch and I'm not manual for it. It has date function, a type of wheel spinning thing on it (i suspect that has something to do with the problem), and the button also sets the time if you go the whole way. It is also waterproof. For some reason, the time goes I noticed after a long day. Could wheelspin be the cause? Or the date?
