Can a broken watch ever have any scrap value?
I am having a clear out and I have a Longines 9 ct gold ’Presence’ gents wristwatch which let me down very badly about 10 years ago when its case split. Consequently I rather fell out of love with the Longines marque. I don’t care to repair it by way of replacing the case, the cost would at least equal the price paid for the watch which was £400.
Should I just throw it away?
I see watch parts on ebay all of the time. Expensive watch parts, especially older ones do have value as this is often the only source. If the mechanicals are good I would expect that it has some value,
